Is Bigfoot Evil?

One of the common questions regarding Bigfoot is if it is evil and where did it come from?  While alot of these questions regarding where the creature came from and its evolutionary history will only be discovered for sure when science has a specimen to study.

However several theories exist regarding the question on if Bigfoot is evil.  Nearly all ancient native american legends regarding Bigfoot tell of a savage, aggressive and evil beast.  Variously telling of the beast being a cannibal or being an evil spirit that brought sickness and misfortune upon mankind when their paths crossed.

We will cover more legends regarding Bigfoot later but for now we will cover one specifically:  The Potawatomi legend of the Windigo/Bigfoot (many Great Lakes tribes had similar legends but for brevities sake we will only cover the Potawatomi one).  The legend tells of a monster who would attack the Potawatomi in winter time and devour them, he was described as being a giant who had an all-consuming hunger yet the more it eats the less satisfied it would become keeping it continually hungry.  The Potawatomi only were free of fear of the Windigo/Bigfoot in the summer months as the beast did not like warm weather, only the most powerful shaman were said to beable to defeat the monsters becasue their size and strength made them impossible to kill with normal weapons.

As you can see from the legend above Bigfoot was regarded as a evil, aggressive beast who has terrorized mankind going back all the way to when primitive native americans inhabited all of north america.  So is Bigfoot evil? Most definetly...time and time again it has been proven they are savage dangerous animals.

  1. It is an interesting question, whether or not "Bigfoot" is evil. To say a beast is evil, one has to assume that the creature understands the moral code of good and evil, but chooses to do evil.

It is true that in almost all cases, Bigfoot encounters are met with fear, anxiety and deep-seeded dread. It is also true that all forms of animal life seem to avoid these creatures at all costs. Even a 1,500 pound west-coast Grizzly seemed spooked, running full tilt in the opposite direction from which it stood tall, sniffing the upwind breeze, just moments before a Bigfoot appeared. Black bears have also shown the same "spooked" behavior when a "Bigfoot" is either seen, smelled or heard by eyewitnesses a few moments later.

It also seems that Bigfoot enjoys to engage in psychological warfare. It has paced cars traveling at 45 miles per hour just to look in the car window at the occupants. In another case it has punched through a car window, injuring a passenger; it has thrown stones and pine cones at campers and hikers; it has assaulted hikers and even killed a few people now and then; its scream alone panics even the bravest of men and beast alike.

Moreover, it seems to like knocking on walls, taping on windows, shaking cabins, cars and trailers and screaming through cabin windows not to mention watching people through their windows at night. It also likes to follow hikers, hunters and hitch-hikers alike, just behind the tree lines. When they walk...it walks, when they stop...it stops, but it always makes its presence known.

In addition, these things have been seen to shapeshift into another creature right in front of eyewitnesses; cars reportedly have lost power right before one appears, while other reports have said that car lights just started flickering on and off just prior to a Bigfoot sighting. I've even read reports where these creatures have chased people, not intending to catch them, but just to see the human run, scream and wet their pants. It seems the whole point of that exercise was to (A) chase the subject away from its area or (B) got a kick out of terrorizing the subject or (C) both.

Then, at times, there seems to be an association with Bigfoot sightings and UFO sightings in the same areas. Hmmm. Perhaps Bigfoots have an association with UFO's or UFO's have an interest in them just as we do. No one knows for sure.

The fact is, Bigfoot doesn't mind being seen or heard and it does not avoid humans as much as you may think. Now, add to its resume that it has been reported to smell like "sulfur" (rotten eggs) and the smell of "death" and the plot thickens. Even its stench assaults the human senses, not to mention its hideous face, which seems to look very human-like in appearance, especially through the eyes and nose region. It also has been reported to have its own audible language and if what I have heard is authentic...I'm talking a full 100 on the CREEPY scale!

So, what is it? Is it an animal? Is it a species of human? Is it paranormal? Or, is it possible that it is a mixture of all the above? We won't know that answer until one is caught and studied, if that day ever comes. My money is that it is a mixture of "all the above".

It seems to be more than an amimal but far less than human. Without having the character or moral code of humans, it seems to repeatedly demonstrate super-human qualities. So, is it evil? Perhaps. But, until further notice - it is best to continue enjoying the great outdoors, but never fail to exercise caution and good judgment at every turn and always use the buddy system.

Best wishes to all. - Juan Carlos

  8. you know, you bunch of idiots are the ones that need to listen to what I said. I do believe they can be agressive, but the only way I would ever kill one would be if my life was in imminent danger. And once again you are nothing but punks that hide behind a computer screen. If you ever meet me, call me an old boy or cupcake to my face and I'll hand you your ass Thor.

Rand don't bother with people like this..they obviously have issues and need tissues.I know Rand Trusty's stance on pro kill and no kill.He has helped me bust pro kill groups who have been on Indian land on our first Nations reserve.you would be a dumb ass to not protect yourself if being attacked by any person or creature on this planet.

Rand, as for the morons who claim you are pro-kill, screw them. They aren't worth the time, nor trouble, it would take to whip their asses. PROUD to be ASSOCIATED with YOU, BROTHER! Richard VanDyke

P.S. I'll be speaking at Lamar University on trhe 22nd of September, Thor...IF you're man enough to attend. Maybe you can get a little schooling of another sort.

  14. Hi Winona, this is Linda here.
While these big macho hunters have their pissing contest, I would like to say I have had several encounters with Sasquatch and never once did they try to frighten or threaten or hurt me. They did do things to make sure I knew they were there and proved to be gentle, shy and curious creatures.
Man is the one who kills without regard for life and often only taking tophies and wasting the rest of the creature.
You have just proven to the world who is the violent, aggressive ones.
We have been known to eat our own children in desperate times.
Chuckling rocks and pine cones seems rather calm and peaceful compared to what man does. Just watch the evening news and you will know what I mean.

  15. I beleive in what you are saying Linda...what Rand was trying to say is that he would never kill anything unless it was trying to kill him..kind of a generalizing statement ..Rand trusty has help me find out who was snooping around on our Native traditional lands and with research found that these people are a pro kill group. He was infuriated and because of his help I was able to inform the members from the nation about these people so they are on the lookout now..Rand has had some encounters as well and in one was bluff charged and he didn't shoot at the creature. He has the utmost respect for life and I am proud to have him as my friend.I cant watch the news but I am very aware of how bad humans can behave..I live on the rez its a harsh reality here.Peace to you Linda...Winona

  17. I am pro-kill because bigfoot is prokill. I was camping one night on the river bank in Oklahoma, minding my own business when this vicous, hairy, freakazoid sneaked up on me and tried to grab me. He also snapped a large tree attempting to block my truck and prevent my escape. I have been hunting these things ever since and I shoot my foot--age with an assault rifle, not a camera. What I can't figure out is why these people out here want to protect the habitat of something so vicious. The way I look at it, the Earth is our God given habitat and we are at the top of the food chain. I am no kill when it comes to abortion but I am pro kill all the way when it comes to these savage beasts. If you are a no kill bigfoot person, you have every right to be, but at the same time I should have the choice or the right to hunt and kill these hairy beasts, without someone trying to pass some state legislation protecting these things. I'm really not too worried about something like this happening, because the people making the laws don't believe in this creatures existence to begin with. If these things are on the endangered species list that's fine with me. My goal is to put them on the extinction list, and if you don't like it, there's not a damn thing you can do about it. I don't like these people out here trying to habituate these things, but just the same, I can't do a damn thing about it because we live in a free country and I have to repect their rights just as they have to repect mine. That is what America is suppose to be about. If you disagree, I would suggest you move to one of the communist countries where you don't have any rights.

  18. There's no way to check the honesty of someone like Anonymous above who swears he/she was almost grabbed and almost trapped by a Sasquatch; however, I give it the benefit of the doubt. It could all have happened, as written. I am also surprised at how non-aggressive these gigantic creatures can be at times; throwing rocks (not even hitting most, in what seems to be purposeful bad aim) and also just trying to "run us off" when clearly it could grab us up, kill us, and/or eat us without a twinge of trouble. Faster, bigger, stronger. I do reserve the right to sit somewhere in the middle, however. That said: I have great respect for the ancient native-Americans, and their myriad of stories/spoken history where they have been persecuted, killed, carried off, mated with, and eaten. That is some heavy and viable personal history to consider. It is something I do not doubt; too many stories backed up by too many people all over this country for hundreds of years. There are also plenty of stories of violence with the "yowies" in Australia. If you want to believe that the Bigfoot are "benign" creatures with a basic heart that is not violent towards mankind, you would have to DIS-believe all of the above. I choose to believe my fellow man and those that lived in the woods/mountains/outdoors "with" the creatures generationally. I think there is nothing wrong in bringing a gun with you to protect yourself; you'd do that to stay safe from a criminally minded human, why not an unknown creature "camping" alongside you during your vacation in the woods. Protecting, and arming yourself as Winona stated above does not make you "pro kill," it simply makes you cautious and prepared. No, I do not agree with Linda, they have not been proven to be "gentle creatures." Look at the history. They CAN be gentle and even maybe curious and playful..but that doesn't mean they cannot turn on a dime. Humans can turn on a dime... but they normally (yes, there have been instances of desperation during famine situations, or purely insane) eat each other. Do the bigfoot believe we are "fair game?" Who knows? These creatures are unknown, and in general have shown themselves to not be "user-friendly" to humans in many instances. There is also plenty of evidence that many people who have regularly gone missing in state parks are not necessarily just getting lost on the trail... They have been known to hunt us; lets not be too overly politically correct. I think we need to consider the danger and try to find a happy medium ground to live with them, CAUTIOUSLY! My ten cents..

  19. Ok, I feel it is my responsibility to share my experience first hand. I was camping deep in the Louisiana Swamp and at around 12am something came up to the RV. I was awakened by my German Shepherd who was scarred. Let me first say something about my German Shepherd, she is a pro k-9 trained, the most aggressive dog I have ever seen, people even think she has rabies. She is not scarred of anything normal period. Ever. I have been cross country in a tent twice, seen animals that were supposed to be extinct such as Fl panthers in the Louisiana Swamp, even camped in NM during a rabies epidemic with white wolves. Now let me just say, yes animals such as bears and wolves and mountain lions can make you uneasy but they still carry an animal "vibe." You still feel that they are natural. Now back to the point, my german shepherd reacted in a way I have never seen, she usually goes ahead of me to attack whatever is bothering her, but not this time, this time she cowered behind me in fear, she was waking me up to protect her not the other way around. I have been a ghost hunter, gotten multiple EVP's, seen UFO's and am one strange dude. But let me just say this, I have never had nightmares before coming face to face with "the creature." I had nightmares for 1 week straight after encountering this.

If you want my honest opinion this this is not just evil, but pure evil in its most natural form. I feel it is a psychical representation of evil and should be left alone. You know it's near because the crickets, the birds, the owls everything just. goes. quite.

It is the most terrifying event in my life, it could have easily killed me but chose to do a low growl in my face instead. Warning me that if I keep getting closer and pushing my search it would harm me, there is not one doubt in my mind this thing would harm a person if it had to, they MUST be respected.

They are not shy of people like others may have said. There are many breeds of bigfoot's but whatever is in the Louisiana Swamp is a very natural form of Evil, a representation of negative energy.

I am not a hunter, but you will not find me back in the swamp again without a gun.

If you do decide to search for one of these things and best case scenario you find one, just be prepared, be safe and try not to shit yourself.
